Aircraft Maintenance Training Course Since 1954. Approved By DGCA.

The Southern College of Engineering & Technology being one of the pioneers in aviation training since1954. The campus is ideally located in a 15 acre estate by the banks of the Chalakudy River about a kilometer from Chalakudy Thrissur. 

UG/ PG Courses (SDE)

The college is approved to conduct Ab-initio training in aircraft maintenance engineering to cover mechanical stream (Heavy Aero Plane, Light Aero Plane, Piston Engine, and Jet Engine) by D.G.C.A.

The training programme consists of theoretical and practical training in various aircraft maintenance engineering subjects which includes aircraft structure, general engineering Aero Engine, Propulsion system, Electrical and Avionics systems. Total curriculum is divided in to class room instructions and associated practicals for five semesters and on job training in the last semester. There is a well-stocked library which is being replenished constantly with advanced and latest technical books on various subjects for reference. Hostel facilities for boys and girls are also available.

The faculty consists of highly qualified and experienced professionals headed by the Chief Instructor who is approved by the DGCA Govt. of India.

The college also has expanded with Arts and Science course under the (SDE) Bharathiar University in the name of Southern Institute of science and management studies. The students can also have dual degree course.
