The Sree Narayana Educational and Charitable Trust was registered in 1992 at Thrissur by 15 settlers who belonged to various Sree Narayana organizations with the main objective of starting a CBSE school. Thus came into being, Gurukulam Public School, under the Trust, in July 1992, in a rented building at M G Road. The School initially had KG classes with only 6 children. In 1993, the school was shifted to its own building on 30 cents of land at Poonkunnam with KG section and 1st standard. 

In 1994, Gurukulam Public School entered a new phase when the Trust acquired about 8 acres of land on the serenely located Aykunnu hill in Venginissery Village which is about 8 kms. away from Thrissur town.

Today the School stands proud, with note worthy achievements, both in academics and co-curriculars. The School has achieved 100% results in AISSE & AISSCE since the beginning till now. Our students have emerged amongst the top 1% in various subjects in the country and have received Scholarships from the CBSE for further studies. Our Alumini now consists of Officers in the Defense Forces, Pilots, Professionals from various fields, students of IITs, and other institutions of repute. Amongst the present students we have champions at various sports, the best junior sprinter in the state, students who have received appreciation letters from the Minister of HRD, Mrs. Smriti Irani, Our staff is studded with committed and humane teachers and supporting members. Our senior teachers are recipients of letters of appreciation from the HRD minister. All is well!!! We are well equipped to give our children the very best.
